Ulf Brännlund

Ulf has a doctorate degree from Optimization and systems theory, KTH where he previously held a research and teaching position and taught courses in optimization, systems engineering and financial mathematics. He also has a master’s degree from Engineering-Economic Systems at Stanford University and a master of science degree in aeronautical engineering from KTH.

Ulfs professional interests are mathematical modelling of all types of planning problems. He holds a certain fancy for power production and supply chain management but also finance related problems attract him.

Off work, Ulf devotes himself to family and the summer house in the archepelago, but manages also to cultivate an interest in culture and politics as well as practice skiing, both cross country and downhill, and play all sorts of racket sports.

Stefan Feltenmark

Stefan has a doctorate degree in optimization from KTH, Stockholm. His MSc-degree is in engineering physics, also from KTH.
The doctorate thesis concerned models and algorithms for optimization of hydro- and thermal power generation. After the doctorate, Stefan headed a research project about stochastic optimization applied to seasonal planning of hydro power generation. The project was joint with Lund’s University, Fraunhofer-Chalmers centre, and KTH, with financing from the power industry and the Swedish Power Board.

Stefan’s greatest professional driving force is to see mathematical theory put into practice. He holds on to the opinion that optimization is the right way to approach most decision problems. After more than 10 years at Optimization Partner, there has been plenty of opportunity to back this opinion.
